My seventy years on this planet began in New Jersey and consisted of many twists and turns with stops in various locations in California and ending in my home for the last 30-plus years in Fairfax Virginia.
My family is the center of my life and includes my spouse and partner in life for the past 45 years – Nina Gibson, two adult children and four grandchildren.
I was educated as a journalist with a degree from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA. My professional career included radio and TV news broadcasting, work on Capitol Hill as a Press Secretary for two different Members of Congress, public affairs work for the US Department of Energy, and as the Deputy Director for Public Affairs at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
I am an avid bike rider, love swimming and time at the beach, and am certified as a SCUBA diver. Nina and I have enjoyed traveling to many places both in the US and abroad. I’ve been retired for about eight years and now have the time and inclination to get more deeply involved with my church community.
