In Loving Memory of Lisa Goodwin

With deep sadness and profound gratitude, we celebrate the life of Lisa Goodwin, whose warmth, wisdom, and compassionate spirit touched countless live.

Lisa was a cherished member of the Unity of Fairfax community and the devoted mother of three beloved adult children. She was the visionary founder of Rise Wellbeing Center in Reston, creating a welcoming space for meditation, holistic living, healing, and personal growth. Though the center closed following the COVID-19 pandemic, its impact continues through the many lives Lisa touched.

In recent years, Lisa followed her dream of living in closer harmony with the Earth, settling in Louisa, Virginia, where she gardened, grew her own food with her daughter Hope, cared for a flock of ducks, and dreamed of opening a home bakery using freshly milled flour.

Lisa’s greatest passion was inspiring others to live consciously and embrace their spiritual path. During the final chapter of her life, she devoted herself to teaching the importance of Conscious Dying, encouraging openhearted conversations about life’s final transition with peace, awareness, and love.

More than anything, Lisa will be remembered for the way she made people feel—seen, heard, loved, and uplifted. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering belief in the goodness of others leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew her.

Family and friends will be gathering to celebrate Lisa’s life at a Garden Party Potluck Lunch, just as she had envisioned, sharing stories, laughter, and gratitude for a life lived with purpose, courage, and love.

May we honor Lisa by living as she did—with intention, compassion, and an open heart.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
