Join us at Unity of Fairfax on January 24 from 12:30-2 PM for a free introduction to the BePeace Foundations Course. Rita Marie Johnson, the Founder of BePeace, will introduce the course either by teleconferencing or recorded message and previous attendees will share their experiences. There will be time for questions and registration will be available for the March 29 to April 2, 2010 course.

ENLIGHTENED LEADERS PROGRAM – December 3rd was our 1st Webinar in this educational series that is part of our Transformation Experience Pilot program.  Webinar handout materials from the event are available on the Association of Unity Church’s special web site for the Transformation Experience.  Those interested and involved in this program are encouraged to review these materials, read Doug Krug’s ‘Bonus Chapters’ on Enlightened Leadership, and begin the practice exercises provided. http://www.teinteractive.org/handouts

NEW:
HAITI – On Sunday, January 24, Rev. Donna stated that money collected by Unity of Fairfax for Haiti on January 24 & 31 would be sent to “Doctors without Borders”. Checks are to be made payable to Unity of Fairfax with “Haiti” on the memo line. A donation basket is located in the Atrium.

UNITY OF FAIRFAX CONNECTIONS - for singles, couples, families, everyone! It's your chance to connect with others in the Unity of Fairfax community for fun and friendship. Save the date - Sat., February 20, 6-9 pm, Pizza and Game Night in the Unity atrium. If you love relaxing with friends, and playing all types of tabletop games, don't miss it! PRAYER CLASS - Great opportunity to look at the what’s, why’s, when’s and where’s of prayer as you discover ways to develop and deepen your prayer life. Join Rev. Donna for this informative and interactive class on SAT., FEB 20, 10-4PM. Brown bag lunch. Open to everyone - love offering.

EVENTS:
‘CREATING THE WORK YOU LOVE’ WORKSHOP - Tama Kieves, author of This Time I Dance! is doing a workshop today in the sanctuary from 2 to 4 PM. The cost is $20.

UNITY OF FAIRFAX WILL PROVIDE DINNER for residents of the Hypothermia Prevention Program on Sunday, January 31st and Sunday, March 14th. We will provide breakfast and lunch for the following day. We need to feed 35-40 people. We also need 2-3 people to serve the dinner and transport the breakfast and lunches to the temporary shelter located in Reston.
There is a set menu with specific instructions in the atrium and also a sign up list for those who want to participate. Monetary donations are being accepted to purchase additional items. YOU’RE INVITED! On Friday, February 5th, as part of the Transformation Experience Pilot Program, we will be hosting a congregational potluck from 6-7 pm, and from 7:00 – 9:30 that evening, Susan Beck, a highly skilled facilitator from the Association of Unity Churches International, will be with us to facilitate “Envisioning our Future Together.” Susan will lead us in a discussion of what we, as a congregation, want to manifest in the next 10 years and beyond. We want your input! Please sign up in the atrium.

TE EXPERIENCE WEBINAR – Thursday, Feb. 18th, 8 pm in the sanctuary. “Spiritual Evolution and Emotional Intelligence: What is Required for Conscious Evolution,” presented by Cindy Wigglesworth. Free to all.

AUTHORS’ READING AND BOOK SIGNING – On Sunday, Feb. 21st, 1:30-4pm, we will have our own “Unity of Fairfax Authors’ Reading and Book Signing.” This is a great opportunity to discover the talent and interests of some of the people in this community. If you are interested in participating, please sign up in the atrium.

BEPEACE - The BePeace Foundations Course is March 29-April 2. Be empowered to “feel peace” and “speak peace” with easy to learn techniques. NEXT GENERATION OF UNITY RETREAT – “The Fire of Divine Inspiration,” a spiritual retreat for young adults 18-35ish, is sponsored by the Eastern Region of Unity and hosted by Unity of Richmond. Registration fees: $60 by Jan. 29th, $75 by Feb. 12. Registration includes meals and local housing with congregants or you may select a hotel. Dates of the retreat are Friday, Feb. 26th-Sunday, Feb. 28th. CLASSES:
A SCHEDULE OF CLASSES through May is now established. Please see the bulletin insert for information or visit our website.

SPIRITUAL ECONOMICS – Taught by Rev. Sandy on Tuesdays, January 5th – Feb. 9th, 7-9 pm in the sanctuary. The course is based on a book by Eric Butterworth. Given on a love offering basis.

UNITY BASICS – Unity Basics will resume with Principle 1 on Sunday Feb. 7 between services at 10:10 - 10:45. Information will be covered on one Principle a week. Any one is welcome. Attending all 5 classes of the Unity Basic Principles is a requirement for membership. This class will be facilitated by licensed teachers Kitty Crawford and Nancy Star.

2ND TIER CIRCLE – Sundays between services, 10:10-10:50 a.m. in classroom 5. For the next several weeks, we compare BePeace and the wisdom of the Tao Te Ching. Love-offering basis. Facilitator: Steve Marcom.

A COURSE IN MIRACLES – Wednesdays, 7:30-9:30 p.m. in classroom 7. Facilitated by Bryan Jones. For information call 703-368-1486.

GROUPS:
MEN'S GROUP - Meets Mondays at 7-9 p.m. in the library. All men welcome. No drop-ins--prospective members must first contact Richard Keelor at 571-334-2142. (Alternate contact: Tom McDonald, 703-476-2355).

PODCASTS & CD’s– Unity of Fairfax’s Sunday messages are podcast on our own web site at www.unityoffairfaxarchives.blogspot.com, and www.unity.fm web site. CD’s ($5.00 each) of Sunday Messages are also available in the bookstore.
